Removing Trailing Whitespace in Adobe Dreamweaver

Recorded on January 14th, 2017

If you’re bothered by wasted spaces and tabs at the end of lines in Dreamweaver, this is an especially helpful tip. I was thinking there was a built-in command for this, but there isn’t. However, this post from carolinamantis.com is the next best thing. They show you the regex for doing the search and replace, and then reveal the steps to create a Dreamweaver extension which ultimately gives you a menu command you can run.

Here’s the regex they came up with, which is obvious when they explain it, but not obvious when you haven’t seen it done before:

[ \t]+([\r\n]+)

and then you replace that with:

$1

Read through their whole post and learn something fun.
